| John Cooper Works Cooper | Hi, Was wondering if it would be possible to fit a aftermarket head unit in to a R56 mini cooper, would you be able to make a wiring loom up to allow me to do this and add amps etc. i was thinking of modifing a pannel on the front of the dash where the current one is to allow me to fit in the space. What would the disadvantages and advantages of this be? What is the output of the standard head unit for the speakers if i was to add a amp etc for the rear speakers? Let me know asap. Cheers Rob |

Offline | Swapping out the stereo isnt just about the physical fitting - when I tried to do it, all the speedo display was lost I believe a company in Japan can do it but they will only fit & not supply the parts, so a long drive. You could try fitting your stereo in the storage comp but you will; need long arms to operate it The simplest solution is to keep the factory stereo & amp/speaker it for a great sound. We do a full package or you could just buy the adaptors from us if you have your own stuff. Be warned though its not an easy car to do Or if you really like aftermarket stereos - buy an R53 ![]() |

Can you supply a simple fitting instructions for your kits. e.g to fit a link loom and to fit new rear speakers. Let me know please and you wil have a new customer. Cheers Rob |

Offline | As per my email Looking at the amp - it will do a sub or the 6*9's not both You can use the 6*9's, you can use the sub, you can use the amp to power the sub You will need an aditional amp to drive the speakers This loom (top one in list) will enable you to add your amp - NewMINIStuff.com We do have an upgrade package specifically for the R56 Mini - available to buy or fitted. NewMINIStuff.com This gives a very good loud clean sound with good bass, you could if required add your sub & amp to this package but you will loose your boot. Regards Mike Wildman NewMINIStuff.com |
