2006 REME MINI Mountain Tour 06/22 - 06/26

We are please to announce the commencement of the first half of the REME 2006 MINI Mountain Tour starting with a pre-run concert and dinner in the Old Town Windsor Green on Thursday night, 06/22/06. Those participants completing all four days of driving will drive over 1100 miles. The longest club organized run in the entire Pacific Northwest and Northern California in 2006.

Day 1: 06/23/06 Around 16 cars will join us for a 326 mile day starting in downtown Healdsburg at 9am. We will travel north on US-101 through the Mendocino and Humbolt National Forests via the Avenue of the Giants to stop for lunch in Fortuna around 1:30pm. After lunch we will drive through the Trinty National Forest on SR-37 arriving in Redding at about 6:30 pm. Here we will meet up with the remainder of the participants for a photo shoot, dinner, drinks and behind the hotel car washing.

Day 2: 06/24/06 The 45+- MINIs will meet at 9am and take SR-299 to Weaverville. Traveling through the Shasta & Trinity National Forests and the Siskiyous to Trinity Center, Callahan, Gazelle, Weed, to the Town of Mount Shasta. We will then take a late afternoon run up Mount Shasta, then off to Dinner and Dancing on the Mount Shasta Dinner Train in McCloud. The total distance driven on Day 2 is estimated to be over 197 miles.

Day 3: 06/25/06 We will again start the day early departing Mount Shasta at 9am. We will drive down SR-89 and SR-299 through the Shasta National Forest to Burney Falls and into Mount Lassen National Park. We will return to Redding for dinner at approximately 5:30pm. Distance driven on Day 3 is estimated at 206 miles. The run officially ends on Sunday, although most participants intend to spend Sunday night in Redding and travel home at their leisure over the next few days.

Day 4: This is the optional drive home. This will be a self-guided run west on SR-299 to Arcata returning to Healdsburg 354 miles later taken over 1-2 days of driving.
