OK folks, next meet is Saturday, January 18th at 10AM.

Plan is to meet up in Livermore(maybe Pleasanton?) and drive out Mines Road. Mines Rd. runs south from just outside Livermore all the way to Santa Clara county.

I will forward more info about exact meeting place and route after some more "recon".

This is a "shine only" event. If it rains, we will do it the following weekend.

Spread the word!

I still run into local MINI owners that don't even know about MINI2 and group meets.

All Right! I was hoping it would be in the East Bay. Never drove that road however. How is the drive? About how long does it take, and are we gonna be able to stop for lunch? Count me in!

I'll be coming up from the south valley.
Anyone want to meet up and caravan? Coming from Hollister, through San Jose etc.

Hello fellow motorers!!-- I'm new to mini2 (been reading for some time though).

I just HAD to reply to this thread. I picked up my MCS about three weeks ago. I live in Livermore/work in PLeasanton and know the area.

I gota' tell you--the road between Livermore and San Jose (past the observatory) ROCKS!!! Minirossa you could not have picked a better road to motor. It's both SCENIC and TWISTY (who cares about the scenic part right??)

Well, no "recon" required. We just did the 50+/- mile drive this past Sunday (Livermore to Lick observatory). Good road surface by the way. We do however suggest that you start from the Livermore side.

There is only one little place to stop for 'quick eats' and restroom about halfway through the drive known as "the junction". This place is from another time. The locals hang out there and all the passing motorcycle jockies too. The MINI turned heads while stopped there.

We cannot wait to meet everyone!! Count us in.

Thanks for the post! Glad to hear that you know this road.
I have been too busy with my visiting in-laws & X-mas to
do recon.

Perhaps we can just meet at the In-&-Out burger place just off the Livermore exit? Then proceed down to the Lick observatory.

hi all, time is nearing for the meet, can't wait. just wondering if any one has contacted east bay mini to see what they will do? maby we can get them to offer discounts on equipment if we all show. i would be willing to ask dan, my sales guy if any one wishes. also, i embroder and silk screen clothing, if any one is interested i would make tees or polos for the event,just e-mail me. cr mini
