| MINI2 Regular | MCS exclusive meet? Is there a MINI Cooper S exclusive meet? Considered by anyone? Just to be sure I don't p#ss off anyone and come off the wrong way, I love MINI Coopers all alike (one, cooper, cooper s, old school austin, morris, rover, whatever), but thought this might be an idea to explore just for fun. If anybody thinks this is a good idea, feel free to say so. If you think it's bad, then shut the hell up.. just kidding, I welcome positive and negative feedback alike. I guess this may be a way of me trying to start up some sort of meet in the near future and wanted any opinions which may make it somehow different. I'm down for a mix of MINI models, regardless.. just had a stray thought about an all "S" meet which might be unique?** ** In case it isn't.. sorry, I don't check the forums as often as I'd like these days. | MINI2 Senior | wing, i know you don't mean to be offensive, but honestly, it's hard not to take offense. if you're coming to the meet next week, you better not get "stuck" behind a cooper. well, i better stop here before it turns into an ugly reply... or has it already? ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | i think whoever's taking this negatively should just chill out. I'm open to all Minis... seriously. I just though it would be unique to just see all the Cooper S's. Not that I don't like the standard Coopers. And btw.. I was going to remove one comment I know I should not have made shortly after I wrote up this thread. "...Not that I have anything against standard Coopers, but you have to admit the Cooper S is a nice step above the norm in more ways than one...." My apologies for adding that sentence. Came off incorrect. I'll make the edit to this shortly. Again, I have absolutely no bad thoughts and don't look down upon Coopers.. not in the most remote sense. I simply meant to try and find fellow mini Cooper S owners.. I guess I should have posted this in the Cooper S forum. My bad. I beg 1000 apologies for the misunderstanding. And whoever can't take this humble apology in good spirit, too bad and sorry you feel so strongly. Need to take a chill pill or inhale a few herbs and pass a peace pipe around or something. Lastly, formal apologies to the 2 who completely took my words the wrong way... Sorry fishie & Sorry larry paquette. |

Offline | Next thing you know there will be a Works only meet, and a convertable only meet and you will feel excluded, then a Works convertable only meet, then a green Works convertable with black hood stripes meet, soon you are wondering why this "meet" stuff is not fun anymore. Keep it simple, keep it fun. Chris |

| MINI2 Regular | Damn! Be cool boys & girls. Now you're getting rediculous. It was simply a suggestion cause I wanted to see and talk to more and other fellow S owners. Not that I don't want nothin' to do with the rest of you all. Come 'on... a great philosophy and idealogy behind the ownership of a MINI is it's a great platform for expression.. both about the car and it's owners. It's just not a sound concept to pair a MINI with an anal retentive close minded owner.... there's just no good business there, like oil and and vinegar, gives a bad rep to the rest of the group, etc... Grew up in 'cisco all my life with a very open mind to accept many things. Believe me.. I'm totally sorry if my interest to simply seek and see just how many S's are around the bay area was mistaken as prejudice against the other MINI models. What can I do to prove I was wrong and trying hard at this point not to be excommunicated from the MINI community? Emails and simple text messages can be interpreted so wrongly.. and this probably isn't the first time. Anyways.. hope I can prove I'm not a bad guy and just had my words misinterpreted and blown outta proportion. Well.. it's clear it's not such a hot idea. Thanks for the strong statement. I'll think clearly before bringing up taboo subjects. Hopefully, we can all talk on a more positive and correct note. ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | well, fishie.. just hope you and whoever else comes upon this takes this in the spirit in which I presented.. best just to drop it here and now. yeah.. i just hate aggrevating people and antagonism.. just want to set the records straight and make us all happy... smooth out any ripples in the water I may have caused. Told my buddy about this incident and he explained the big no-no I did.. Should never discriminate within the family... which I indirectly and unknowingly did by poor choice of words and phrasing. That's it for me on this end. I'll just stick to finding out when bay area meets are happening and mingle more "intensely" when I can show up and hang. thanks for the invite, still.. but, I think I'm stuck at work all day.. that is if it's on a saturday.. which it should be. have fun... sorry for stating the obvious.. they're MINI's.. of course it'll be fun! later all. | MINI2 Newbie | what the? I don't understand the "small man's complex" and insecurity that people with a MINI Cooper have. You don't have to feel offended or insecure because an S driver wants to meet with other S's. One car isn't better then the other, but they are different. the S is more attractive in some ways, and the Cooper is more attractive in other ways. Celebrate the differences and GET OVER IT!!! .:red cooper S, white top/stripes/wheels, and a sunroof:. |

Offline | Wouldn't celebrating the difference require a difference? By having an all S meet you are celebrating the sameness. I say go for it though, be divisive early in this new cars history in Northern California, go on and feel superior to other MINI owners. In the end it might be interesting to watch as people who may have joined you on "All MINI" meets stay at home and do there own thing to avoid the clicks and feeling of being on the outside at gatherings.
