6-21/22-2003 - Mini Mania Nevada City Adventure For those that don't know, Mini Mania does a two day event each year. Go to http://www.minimania.com/EventDetail...D=161&InfoID=1 for their event listing. Who is planning on going to this, and if so for one day or two? Chris

If you want a recommendation on a place to stay, I would recommend the Northern Queen Inn - it's about a 1 mile away from our offices (on a partially dirt road), 3 miles on pavement.... It's basic but has a nice restuarant. (They also have 'cottages' and small 'conco' units available. Just remember this is Nevada City - there aren't any 5 star hotels here, not even 4 or 3 star... There are some nice restuarants in the Nevada City / Grass Valley areas. Let me know if you want some recommendations for reservations! Ken

Well there’s more…. Seven Enterprises Ltd. (who does not sell MINI parts yet, but will once thy build up their inventory) is having an open house on that Saturday morning. Seven is about 40 minutes from Mini Mania (on the way from the bay). Anyway, currently they sell Mini, Sprite, and MGB stuff. Check out the list of cool things they are doing on Saturday here http://forum.moasf.com/index.php?boa...y;threadid=183 Chris

Ok, so it is totaly messed up... now both shops have all their stuff at the same time on Saturday. I am not sure it is worth the overnight unless you are dying to drive around Nevada City, as that is the only thing happening Sunday. Anyway, "You makes your choices and you takes your chances". Chris I got this from Jan at MM. 3rd Annual Nevada City Adventure at Mini Mania Check the oil in your classic British car and drive up to the Sierra Foothills for Mini Mania's Nevada City Adventure on June 21 and 22! Saturday features a car show, swap meet, and technical seminars; Sunday is devoted to a Fun Run. The Show-and-Shine offers people's choice judging for the best Classic Mini, New MINI, Morris Minor, and British Roadster --and the ever-popular "Worst of Show" class, honoring a car which made it to the Adventure under its own power, in the worst condition! Sell your extra car bits at the swap meet; bring a table or sell from your tailgate. Chuck Heleker, and our New MINI product team, will be on hand to answer your technical questions and present short talks on both classic Minis and New MINIs. Bring a picnic lunch or purchase lunch and treats from local service club vendors. A Fun Run drive through the beautiful Sierra foothills will take place on Sunday to wrap up the weekend. And here's the best part -- all the events are FREE! We would like to have an idea of who is coming, though, so we're going to sweeten the deal: RSVP by phone or through our website by June 14, and we'll enter your name in a drawing to win a $25 Mini Mania gift certificate! You must be present on June 21 to win. Mini Mania will be open for business all day Saturday, until 5 p.m. To help things flow a little smoother, you can place your parts order by noon, June 20, for pickup on the 21st -- you'll get a 15% discount on all non-sale merchandise, and save shipping charges to boot. All regularly priced items purchased on Saturday will receive a 10% discount. The swap meet starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday, and the car judging will take place at 1 p.m. For more information including suggestions on where to stay, visit www.minimania.com or call Jan Evers at (800) 946-2642. See you there!

Where to stay... If the hotels in the Grass Valley / Nevada City areas require a 2-nite minimum, Auburn or Colfax are the closest towns - both about 20 - 25 minutes away... (Colfax is a fun drive - a nice windy section into a canyon) but I'm not sure what's available there. Let me know if you have trouble finding a place. ken

Re: Where to stay... __________________ Last year I stayed at the Golden Chain motel in Grass Valley. Owner drives a MINI and the grounds has a swimming pool and a nice small covered bridge.
