Offline | Help: Clear Bra Installer Recomendation Needed Has anyone had a clear bra (X-pel, etc) installed on their MINI in the SF Bay Area? Can you recomend your installer and provide details on cost, quality of product, quality of installer, etc? Also, can you tell me if you had the material installed over bonnet stripes and if there were any drawbacks? ANY help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, averyocooper |

Offline | Hey Averyocooper, I got mine installed in Santa Rosa by a company named Invisi-Guard. The guy that installed it was Marcos Ramirez. I was lucky and got in on a group buy somehow with people from southern CA, so I got it installed for around $475 + $50 for a custom scoop guard (I think those were the prices...) I think he actually said it would cost around 600-650 normally. It took 2 of them nearly 4 hrs for the install but they did a great job! It covered all the front painted areas including the fog lights, turn signal and the front of the mirrors. I think he would have put them on the headlights, but I had already installed the expel ones that I bought off the internet (the expel ones for the light protection are thicker and I would recommend getting those separately). I also had the stripes from Rogue Engineering already on my bonnet so I had them install them over the stripes and it came out fine. There is a tiny gap along the edge of the stripes but I think over time and heat it has shrunk and shrunk. Since my bonnet stripes are textured slightly and absorbs water and changes colors a little, the parts under the clear bra looks "wet" in appearance even though it's not. If you have the MINI factory bonnet stripes, this shouldn't be a factor. All in all, I really recommend a clear bra for the MINI's as opposed to a leather or leatherette bra, and I've already seen spots where it has saved my car from road shtuff! Hope this is helpful. Offline | Santa Ana is not the place that I had it done. It was in Santa ROSA. Just thought you'd like to know. DS/DS MCS, Sport Package, Nav Sys, Rogue Engineering Stripes http://www.mini2.com/gallery/personal/dldds/mysig2.jpg |
