Offline | Ok here we go. NORCAL MINIS is having a run to Big Sur on saturday July 12. We talked about a camping trip to the mountains but to late to get a spot. Maybe in the fall. Do we want to go down the coast the whole way ? Do we want to try and find a place to camp ? Do some want to stay the night in a hotel ? I'm in for the coast and a camp site if we can find one. ![]() |

Offline | Looks like a day trip. AAA map shows several parks in the area. Anyone know the area ? We going to bbq ? Some parks have fire rings should we try for something on the beach ? |

Offline | Larry, I'm familiar with the area having camped there a few times. This time of year getting a campsite is pretty much impossible and the day use areas are probably full as well. There is a strictly day use area about 50-60 miles down the coast that might be a possibility, but again, this time of year who knows? A car, A legend, A way of life |

Offline | I think we could find a day use area with no problem. I called a privite campground called Fernwood and I was told that they would have no problem if we just wanted to come in and set up the BBQ's. There is a $5.00 day use fee. If that didn't work there is always Pfeiffer Big Sur and Juilia Pfeiffer Burns about 12 miles further down the coast. schlick, I would consider coming down Skyline Dr. to Hwy 9. If thats what is decided I will meet you guys on Hwy 9 somewhere? insted of driving over the hill first. dinlo, did you get my e-mail re the cupholders, I have a prototype but I need to get it to you. Offline | Hey fellow motorers. I was looking at a map and there is a couple of roads that are east of Hwy17 just south of Los Gatos that come out at Soquel on the south side of Santa Cruz. We could meet down that way or still come down 9 from the Crystal Springs. I've never been on them but willing to check it out. Julia Pfieffer park looks like a good park to stop at. AAA shows lots of services. Keith ignore this, Thanks for the good wishes on my new grandson he's awesome Maybe we need some kids shirts ? I'll bring coals, drinks, dogs, and a dessert. |

| MINI2 Regular | Check this link out guys, all the california state parks right along the coast in the big sur area are on there. I was actually thinking Julia Pfieffer looked good, but really there are a few we could choose from. I will call the parks service folks tomorrow and see what they suggest. Would a good meeting point for everyone be the parking lot at the junction of highways 9 and 35/Skyline? I'm mostly trying to figure out an easy place to meet up for the east bay, Larry let me know what you think. The problem with alot of the roads the look like fun near Santa Cruz is there are a lot of houses and what not on them, but I'm sure Bob knows of some good ones, and once we get out of town a bit we'll find some good motoring. http://www.parks.ca.gov/parkindex/re...giontab=0&id=6 |

Offline | Hey y'all! How about we get started a little early on this ride, so we can avoid some of the traffic that may be out there. I'm willing to get out there a little earlier than we usually start. I'm not sure of the area so if anyone has any suggestions on a good start time, that would be much appreciated! I will go doen to the shop again this Thursday to ask some price on Cap, Polo shirt, and sweater. Offline | What time you want to get together ? If we meet at Eastbay MINI at 7 we can be over on 9 around 745 we could also just meet in San Jose bypassing the Hwy 9 thing and get out of the bay area a little sooner. We might get to San Jose a little sooner 730 or so. It would get us out of the bay area a hour earlier. 17 might not be bad alittle before 8. DINLO I'm bringing sausages, buns, beer,a dessert and Tami. The pictures on the web site are cool I'll make copies so he will know what his grandma and pa did in the old days when he was born.sorry keith. Oh yeh I'll bring the coals too. |
