NorCal MINIs Photo Scavenger Run

Has anybody thought about doing a photo scavenger run? I think it would be a lot of fun.

I don't there are enough people with digital cameras.
It takes me about a week to get my film back...

A photo scavenger is where everybody get a list of items
to photograph. The person with most pics wins. Like
1. elephant
2. hippo
3. naked blonde
4. mini cooper S with phone dial wheels
5. mini cooper S in blue

If somebody has all five pics they are the winner

what's a poker run? hare and hound?

A poker run is a normal drive that has four
(if an envelope is passed out at the start)
or five stops along the route. Each car
gets a sealed envelope that contains one
playing card. At the end of the drive
the car with the best poker hand wins
the top prize and so on.

A Hare and Hound now a days might not be too EPA or
Fire Department Haz Mat friendly.<>
Anyway at the start you do NOT get a map or course route.
You get one instruction, say go north on El Camino. Then
you have to follow the scent of the Hare. The hare drops
a bag of flour at an intersection... There are three ways
he could have gone. You pick a direction if you do not see
another bag you went the wrong way - try one of the other
two, and so on. It is a timed points event. Early or late
points are deducted.
PS You do not ever see the hare.

Sound good, I like the poker run, but hare and hound seem we will lost some MINIs by the end of day, and Photo Scavenger Run sound fun, but if the MINI only has one person(the driver) sit in it, it's hard for the driver to take picture and drive at the same time. Just my $0.02

I like the idea of hare and hound personally, would be fun to set that kind of thing up sometime.

start everybody will be told where the end
meeting point is, say Carlos Murphys on
5th Ave at 42nd St.

With radios and cell phones they can be
talked in.

While at MINI of Mt. View they told me they are tentatively planning a poker run around Oct. Perhaps we can try to coordinate with them.
I will try to get more details during the Thunderhill day in Aug.

The hare and the hound sounds like fun. Let's expand these ideas at the Aug. dinner.

For digital camera's, get those disposable jobs - I have yet to check them out but shouldn't they allow you to download the images?

Also, why not have some locoal retailers sponsor the event by putting something unique in their window displays for everyone to have to find, that way we get exposed to their location and other products so that we can come back and buy Buy BUY!
