Thunderhill Track Day

I have not yet got any official literature from Mt View. So what's the plan? Are going to caravan from Mt View?

If not, I propose that we meet at Vallco Sears or TGI Fridays parking lot for the South Bay folks. We can then pickup the East Bay group at the Pleasanton Park & Ride lot. Take this route: 880 to 680 to 580 to 205 to 120 to 5. I know this is the long way, but you are not dead stopped for an hour waiting to get past the bridge.

How many are going and your location?

Please tell me more about Thunderhill Track Day.
I'm very interested in "Track Days" at any track.

MINI of Mt. View is holding an event at Thunderhill Racetrack in Willows, CA, on Thursday. At last count, there will be about 50 MINI's and at least 8 Certified Porsche instructors on hand for instruction. I am told there will be plenty of individual track time, an in car camcorder, and a photographer on-site as well. It is $300 for the day. It should be a great day, although I am not looking forward to a three hour drive to get there and probably temps at least in the 90's.

At first there was a maximum of 30 cars and 5 instructors but there was so much interest the max was raised to 50 cars and 10 instructors.

So, is there still room or all spots taken? Where do I go to sign up?
Hopefully, my Mini will be out of the body shop by then.

mini huni,

I received information in the mail late last week but it didn't mention anything about meeting to drive up. Margie is in the city for a conference so we will be leaving from there late (6-7PM) Wed. evening. If you, or anyone else, want to meet along the way that would be great.
We are booked in the AmeriSuites for Wed. and Thursday. We didn't feel like rushing back after the fun.

I think this is the 2nd time this year that MINI-Mt.View has done this at Thunder Hill. Dean Matlock, of MINI-Mt. View, is the one organizing this so he will be the one to ask about having this more often.
