| Check the Powell Hotel, at the corner of Powell and Market. Great location at the intersection of all public transit and just a couple blocks from Union Square. We got it for $79 a night prepaid through hotels.com in Sept 03. It's not classy, but it was comfortable and very convenient. | I'll have a huge SUV as per norm ![]() Main reason why we're staying in SF is for the Chinese food. Probably the best in the world and cheap too ![]() I'm after a hotel where we can walk to most places, e.g. shops, chinatown etc. Not too worried about cost. Probably pay up to about $150 for a room ![]() Has anybody been to the Jelly Bean factory????? I've always passed the sign on the way out of SF and maybe will pay it a visit this time round. Is it worth a look??? MINI, RX8 and MX5 - Done those............. It's now TTime ![]() ![]() Unofficial MINI2.com bean counter |

| Hey Martin, The Jelly Belly factory is a fun place to visit. I live very close to the factory. If you need any help on info. or a mini escort let me know when you'll be passing thru. There's also a Budweiser beer factory near by that give tours. If you're into beer, you should drop by and take a tour. Mark |

| The Juliana If you want to stay at a nice place AND have easy access to Chinatown, stay at The Juliana. It's on Bush St. in Nob Hill and only a block away from the Grant Street gates of Chinatown. It's also just a couple blocks from Union Square for shopping. Do a search for their web site -- I know they have one. It's a very nice and reasonable hotel that even serves a high tea during afternoons that's less formal than the full-on British version. I stayed there a week when I first moved to SF. Definitely would recommend. BRG/W MCS |
