Question Was anyone able to negotiate any freebies?

Hi Everyone,

"ariosazul" here and a newbie at that. just wanted to say hi. been reading the forums just to get a heads-up on how to buy a mini and etc. got great info regarding which dealer to see - thanks! (consensus seems to be east bay mini is the place to go)

i did have a question though. has anyone been able to negotiate anything? such as getting the dealers to throw in floor mats or any other options etc? just curious as to how much negotiation/haggling there is involved, or if its basically what you see is what you get.

any info is much appreciated.

Generally, not much freebie stuff going. But, I did get my roof flag and tints at half price.

I did get Universal MINI to throw in floor mats and did some other swapping as well. My car was on the showroom floor when I purchased it (not a build-to-order) and I had them remove the CD changer, install lojack and not add the dealer markup they had on the tag. I think the CD changer and lojack canceled each other out. The mats were a freeebie, along with a key ring.
Woohoo!
I think I have been able to get floormats thrown in on every car I have purchased. Not automatic, but obviously something they (BMW, MINI, Toyota, Volkswagen & Mercedes) have been willing to do.
Good luck!
