Offline | Anyone not going on the factory tour interested in a June club run? Nothing real elaborate, maybe over 84 through Woodside to the coast, then up to that pub in Half Moon Bay for lunch and a pint or two, then back to siilyvasation over 92. Also, have any of the guys had the crystal guard treatment done? Or used the stuff they bought at the DIY party. The Red baron's going in for the treatment next week and I was curious to know if anyone had it and how they liked it ![]() A car, A legend, A way of life |

Offline | Hi larry, I figured pints would bring you out of the woodwork The 26Th works for me. How about you SF James? Sorry Joanie, but the 2 dates you're available I'm not, but there's always July Larry, I figured the East Bay guys could meet at the parking lot behind Penny's at Southland about 9 o clock. Then over the San Mateo, picking up any SF or peninsula troops at Crystal Springs around 10:00. Then down 280 to Woodside, over the hills to the coast and up to Half Moon Bay. If this works for you and you want to map it, that would be most cool The raffle sounds good too Yeah, sorry I didn't make the Bday bash. Life was full of surprizes in May. Be good to get out and have a little fun C'mon NorCal guys and gals, MOASF gang too, or anyone else that wants to have a short run, some good beer and conversation ![]() A car, A legend, A way of life Last edited by William Courant : Jun 8th, 2004 at 10:06 PM. | MINI2 Regular | I won the crystal guard stuff at the last run and I wasn't happy with the first time I used it. If you don't rinse it a second time, it leaves splotchy marks where you used the soft cloth on it. I'll try it with the second rinse next time but if I had to decide, I'd say Mcguyers Quick detailer stuff is just as good and a lot easier to apply since it can go on when the car is dry. I'm also interested in this run to Half Moon Bay. /// The Kurtster /// ![]() UNION JACK OWNERS CLUB GB-0032 |

Offline | Thanks for the info Kurtster. I had the same result with Klasse shortly after I got my Mini. It was hard to put on and get off without blotching and streaking plus bird droppings went right through it. Went to Muguires Hi Tech liquid yellow and love it. Goes on easy, wipes off easy and lasts. I won the pro applied treatment that day but, I've always been a wax guy (no abrasives) as opposed to the sealer treatments. Was curious to know if anyone out there had the pro treatment done, how they liked it, durability, protection, etc. Hate to turn down a $500 paint protectant, especially since my Min is totally Chili red, but don't want to put anything on that's not going to do the job and is a pain to maintain. At any rate, thanks for the reply See you on the June run and we can compare notes ![]() A car, A legend, A way of life |
