| Impatient for R57! | Seattle MINIs Well here I am in Seattle on a week-long visit. Have seen a few MINIs around - and got a wave from one MCS that was parked overlooking the locks (I was on a boat trip). So glad to see that in the land of the SUV there are some discerning drivers around!!!! All the best Ian |

| Impatient for R57! | Thanks Jeff. I have been here since the weekend, so you can thank me for bringing the nice weather with me!! This is my first visit to the West coast, and am very impressed. I will return for sure, hopefully on a vacation trip and with spouse. Is it possible to rent a MINI here? I have Ford Taurus - after my MINI it feels more like a barge than a car! I fly out Thursday, so you can expect your weather to return to seasonal norms in time for the weekend! All the best and happy motoring Ian |

| Loves the Fuzzy One | I used to live in Seattle, my favorite place to eat was Ivar's Restaurant down by the ferry landing. Pike's Market is nearby, and is another place good to visit. While there, you might want to get a latte at the very first Starbucks. ![]() ![]() Global Moderator |

| Impatient for R57! | I had a great time in Seattle athis time a couple of years ago (only saw one MINI, though!) I agree with April's recommendations - loved Pikes Market - do look out for the stall that sells blueberry vinegar (I kid you not - it is fantastic!) Also worth going up the Bank of America tower for some fantastic views (so long as it's not raining) You can take a seaplane tour around the area, or the boat trip around the bay; both great ways to get a feel for the place. We also went out of town to the Snoqualmie Falls (I probably spellt that wrong - a great waterfall that I think is higher than Niagara) In fact, altogether I was very much impressed with Seattle - I just wish I could have spent longer there. Next time, I think I'd like to fly in to Seattle, hire a MINI Cabrio, and drive all the way down the coast to California......... Have a great trip! Ian |
