Offline | Looks very nice. How do you remove the gaiter from the housing at the base of the gear stick? I hear that the gaitor is attached to the R56 gearknob. I have a Whalen in my drawer from when I had an R50, sadly it is no use in the R56. I really miss it as I don't really like the knob in the R56. Red/Black R56 Cooper |

Offline | Ken, You actually could use the old gear knob if you were to mod the lever a bit. All you have to do is deepen the slot in the lever, about 9-10 mm. How handy are you with a round file? ![]() |

Offline | Hmm, would the old knob fit back on when I sell it? Could you make an interface piece, that was not visible, that would fit onto the R56 stick and allow me to use my lovely R50 knob? Red/Black R56 Cooper |

Offline | No. In your case, you would be removing material from the old stick. If it were a case of ADDING material (i.e. making the stick longer), perhaps an interface piece would be required, and possible. |
