The Minx - The engine bay

The engine bay must be one of the least photographed parts of any car, and I'm guilty of letting mine get in a state over the last 12 months.

Crunch time came when I visited Roland @ GT Tuning for the strut braces, and was ashamed of the state of the engine bay... so a spruce up (all by hand - no steam cleaners here ) was in order and here she is...

I think it would if you drove it normally... If you drive it hard to take advantage of the improved handling, I'd imagine that you would go through tyres!

Looking well. I was thinking of buying a compressor, one the reasons was so I could clean the engine using the airline.

You know... something tells me I might get a strut brace EXACTLY like that one in the very near future. Let me just go send off a message or two. Watch this space...

That is very nice mate, respect to you for enduring cleaning the engine, i did the same a while back and was nearly dead by the end of it! And that strut brace is truly lovely mate, How much? and has it actually made a difference to the handling?

Nice One!

The GT Tuning braces are not cheap, but they don't get any better than this.

I ran the GT top and bottom braces for 15000 miles in a R53 MCS and I noticed the difference before I got to 30 mph for the first time after they were fitted! The difference really is that great.

I recently had the GT bottom rear brace fitted as well and even that was noticable straight away!

I am told that, if you drive a cabrio, you can multiply this effect by about two!

Tigger.

and here's a useful quote from one of the manufacturer's posts:

"Hi Guys this is 'the' coolest present you can give someone for christmas (even yourself).
We'll do 10% off from now till Christmas Eve to help you out. Just mention 'Santas Little Helper' to get the discount."

Am I good to you, or what?!

May '08: Due to certain recent events on this site, I no longer wish to continue posting on Mini2. Such a shame after 4 otherwise very happy years on here
