I use macromedia Fireworks which is quite good, I gave photoshop a try because everyone else seemed to use it but I found it took a lot longer to do simple things which fireworks could do quickly, having said that photoshop has a lot more advanced features..

No OS is untouchable my friend, it is simply not the focus right now. Even UNIX can be infected.

Remember the blaster virus? It was a windows virus right? It may not of infected the UNIX boxes but it sure killed the RPC ports on them while trying to infect them basically making them useless.

I don't really recommend torrents for this reason not to mention that pirating is theft...

Another less expensive option is Corel's Paint Shop Pro. I use this to do all of my various signatures for other forum members here and photo edits.

Just buy a 1Gb Lexar Professional SD card 133x for £14-ish.
