Cool Blacked out headlight rings

Wow that looks really cool. I wouldn't mind trying that on my r56 cooper as it is astro black with white viper stripes on bonet and irriduim indicator bulbs. how much is this plastdip and where can you buy it from? how easy is it to remove the headlight rings on a r56?

Regards

Dave.

it take 2 secs to remove the ring. get a big flat screw driver or take them off with your hands

Door handles, fuel cap + bonnet & boot badges done a while back.

Loads of masking tape around the handles, covered half the car with newspaper (neighbours think I'm totally mad by this point) sprayed with plasti-dip, waited for around an hour or so then with a scalpel very carefully cut through at the base of the handle to stop the plasti-dip from peeling off when taking the masking tape off.

hmmm i did the same thing with mine - but i opened the door and put a bin bag over it and then masked round the handle - did it fine, but through opening the door its started to peel off the inside of the handle. might put a line of silicone or glue along the edge hat its peeling from? its on the inside of the handle so you wont be able to see it anyway...but if i leave it it will peel the whole handle off

I'm seriously considering getting involved with this plasti dip malarky.. It's only a tenner and it has an edit>undo button!

...oh and it looks good too!
