Today (2nd March 2013), I am finally the proud owner of a new mini. I've never owned a car before that turns heads, that's a bit of a new experience for me.
It was cold and dry today, not much sun. But with the heated seats, the windows up and the wind deflector in place it was surprisingly sheltered with the roof down.
The spec is as follows:
Mini Cooper Convertible 1.6
Kite Blue
Convertible Pack
CHILI Pack
Interior Trim Piano Black
Full Bluetooth with USB
White Indicator Lenses
Black Bonnet Stripes
Kite Blue has only just been introduced into the UK as a standard colour, previously I could only find it on the Bayswater mini. For some reason, digital photos of Kite Blue (especially when taken with flash or in artificial lighting) don't do the colour justice. But I think the above images (particularly the first 3 or 4) are pretty true to life.
We thought about getting a convertible, but my fears were: 1) what happens if the roof doesn't go back up? 2) what happens if someone slices the roof when unattended? (jealousy etc) 3) what happens if it starts leaking or the material starts to fade? There were to many 'what ifs', so we went the double sunroof choice... Still could have probs, but there were less 'what ifs'... So in a sense I'm kinda jelly (jealous) with your baby... But I'm SOOO in LOVE with my baby... So it all works out in the wash (so to speak)...
Hi Pescha, there is a method for manually closing the roof if the electrics fail, but security and leaks are a concern. The thing is though, this is the first car I’ve ever bought based on "emotion" rather than "logic".
First of all congratulation to you for your new car. All pictures of your car are really very nice. This car is very comfortable and economical.I will also buy this car with in a week.
Good on you... Sometimes being really responsible really sucks... But I expect to see lots of photos of your adventures this coming summer... So I can indulge through the computer Shaun... ...
