United-Kingdom Mini Cooper S with refurbished wheels.

The first thing I wanted to get done when I bought my R53 was to get the wheels refurbished. It was clear that they had been done several times before my mobile refurbishers. There were several coats of poorly applied paint peeling off. I wanted them completely stripped and powder-coated this time so they would last. I have used several different companies before including: Spit & Polish, Rim-Tech and Lepsons. I had planned on using Lepsons again but a friend told me that the quality of their work had gone down hill lately and he recommended Inspraytions. When I got a quote from them it was about 100 cheaper. 192 is what I'd expect to pay for a quick mobile job not a full refurb with tyre fitting. This company will definitely get my work in future. The only downside was having to wait a week for them because I didn't pre-book my wheels in and Inspraytions are really busy at the moment.

The job they've done is superb. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone wanting to get their wheels done properly. They're beautifully finished and very hard to tell apart from brand new wheels. The cost for all four was 192 including refitting and balancing the tyres. I also bought some new centre caps to go on them to finish them off nicely.

Very nice!
These mobile refurbishers are just for those wanting a quick whip around and tart up before they flog it on.
Seen them do a set of M3 alloys, they are supposed to be enameled and the top of the spokes and rim highly polished and lacquered, they just sprayed the whole thing silver, crap it was, nothing like it supposed to be and spoilt the general look of the car.
They thought it looked like new again too. you dont get owt for nowt in this game.

J Cooper Blue Mini White wheels

Hey J Cooper

Great Job the wheels look great i brought my R53 Cooper a few months back before i brought it i asked for the cooper alloys to be sprayed black they were for a similar price, its a bargain.

I love the Cooper Spoke Alloys on the R53s, on every car i have owned around 14 i have always swapped to after market wheels, but i think these ones as standard look better than any set you can buy after market.

Where abouts in the UK are you, we should meet for a road trip one day, mine looks similar to yours, spotlights wheels and the R53 family, so Chrysler engine and that beautiful whine of the Super Charger.

Great Photos and the blue is fantastic

Thanks very much everyone. I appreciate your kind comments. I do agree that the S-Spoke wheels look great for a standard rim and I have no intention of replacing them at any stage with after-market wheels. It's worth getting them refurbished properly if you're going to get them done. I've also bought many different sets of wheels over the years for various cars that I've own in the past but these S-Spoke alloys are definitely staying!

Britalian Job - I'm in SE London / Kent.

Thanks. Right now I'm hating it though! I've just spent two hours trying to remove the sump plug so I can do an oil change. Unfortunately the MINI mechanics who did the last oil change have over-tightened it and rounded off the bolt. GGGGRRR!

Nice wheels you got there. But yeah, it seems hard to clean it especially when it got extra mud and dirt.
