meinamini & ScottyB photoshoot 22-08-05 (56k ooft)

Simon and I found outselves out and about today - got up around Maitland and visited a few historic Churches for photos, and zipped out to Walka Water works for a few more pics.

To start, some MINI photos (Simon has more to add later)

And onto the landscape/architechture stuff...

First up - a little old wedding ceremony pagoda. The tiles around it are all etched with the names of people past married there

Church at Maitland

Duckie

Out the back of Walka Water Works...

Water storage at Walka. Lovely colour. Apparently there are 'gold fish' swimming in there somewhere. Goldfish with three eyes.

Water Works pump chimney

Full view of pump house and chimney stack

Disused coal storage houses

And finally, onto another Church for a few quick pics.

Thanks to Simon for being the tour guide for the day. Its a great trip, and brill if you are into sightseeing - also some great roads out the back.

And thanks to Navman for getting me home

Cheers,
Scotty

Couple extra pics worth a mention

1. MINI train rides

2. Walka Water Works signage

3. Simon coaxing the ducks out of the rubbish

4. Geese

5. EVIL geese. All they did was attack me as I tried to get pics! And then they attacked the ducks while I wasnt getting pics!

very cool Scotty.

have you tried perspective correction in photoshop?
this one would looks heaps better with it I reckon, distort it so the sides are parallel and the chimney doesn't taper off.

(you can also do it with a tilt-shift lens if you're feeling rich )

hehe cool. Hadn't tried that before. Just had a play...

Still a bit of taper from the chimney tho - and if it goes any further, the building sides are outward perspective... will play more!

yeah, that's it, I reckon that looks better. I think the remaining curvature in the chimney might be caused by barrel distortion, which is much harder to correct. (either that or the chimney's wonky

Looks like you guys had a fun day.
Nice photo's as usual.

Simon, you've got to watch out for those geese, they're the devil!

All my life, I have searched for a car that feels a certain way.
Powerful like a gorilla, yet soft and yielding like a Nerf ball. Now, at last, I have found it

Firstly, I believe that I can be the envy of all as I unveil my very own Trunk Monkey

This is what happens when someone suggests that they could fit into the boot of a Cabrio, he really did do it

Nice pics simon, hope your cranky computer isn't giving you too many hassles.
Rememmber, nothing can't be fixed with percussive maintenance. (i.e. Hitting it )

Also, they had a segment on the NBN news last night about walka, how it should be more of a museum, blah blah blah
