Offline | That's the indicator light for the alarm system. On 2005 Mini's, there's a yellow light there in case no alarm is fitted, which has something to do with screen wash fluid level or something. |

Offline | my 2005 cooper is just grey at the end the same as the rest of the stalk (no alarm) - so doesn't tell me anything about fluid levels, but had a Mini Diesel courtesy car the other day and that was yellow at the end |

Offline | Some confusion might come from the fact the MINI they're selling now in Mexico (like above) are still the old style MINIs. Newer MINIs have an indicator for the fluid levels on the end (yellow). IF you have an alarm (and this has always been the case on factory alarms) you have a red indicator on the opposite arm to the yellow tipped one which flashes when the alarm is on. |

Offline | Paul: Thanks for that, sorry for the misinformation. I thought they simply didn't fit the yellow light in case an alarm was fitted. ScaryLady: now that you mention it, I do believe only later 2005 models have the yellow light. |

Offline | "New style" MINIs have been available in Mexico since late 2004. Mine is a 2005 MINI. ![]() Although it too has the red plastic at the end of the stalk, since it's an early 2005! Nice photos Frissen! Maybe you'd like to post some of them here: http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthread.php?t=82926 ¡Saludos amarillos! ![]() |

Offline | Strange, I thought someone posted that you still had the old style. No, that's not it, they said (and I cant find who/where it was posted) that the Model Years are not the same, not that the old MINIs are still new. ![]() Doh! |
