Just spent a night in Narita/Tokyo - Japan in transit to the US and I spotted 6 MINIs

- 2 CRs, 2 EBs, 1 PS and 1 JB - only one of the EBs was an S, the rest were Cooper

I see at least 5 everyday on my way to work... I don't even live in a big city.

Perhaps I would say you're the most lucky ones, spent a night in Tokyo and the rest out of the city, yet seen nothing. By the way is there a mini club in Tokyo?

My daughter was in Japan a couple of weeks ago and sent me a photo of her next to a MINI...

I visited that beautiful place Japan earlier this year - absolutely loved it! Sugoi ne?
Went to a Sumo tournament at Osaka,
Got to Kyoto for a day (but wished I had a month there at least)
Went to Tokyo - Ghibli Museum at Mitaka, and then the next day dropped in on the Mini Mania/Nicole Racing team. They were extremely hospitable and went well out of their way to make us welcome (Arigatou Naoki San!)
Got a tattoo of a Sumo (Yokozuna) in the traditional Japanese art style on my right arm, and most importantly made some great new friends there.

I have visited a fair amount of other places, but have always looked forward to getting home again - not this time! It was so hard to leave!

I'll be back though, and it would be cool to catch up.
