I'm not too sure how many other Kiwi's there are on this website but, if there are I thought I'd make people aware that there is a car show coming up on Sunday - February 2nd at MOTAT, Western Springs in Auckland.

The Mini Car Club of Auckland have a stand so I will be there in my MINI Cooper S (I think they are friendly to MINI's unlike some clubs). It's a bit of a show & shine affair and you have to be a member of the club but you can probably join up the morning of the show or get in touch with them beforehand. It would be good to see some other MINI's there - I may be by myself and surrounded by a horde of jealous Mini's

Meet at 9am in Motions Road, Western Springs if you want to get in. I was there last year in my 1966 Mini and it was a pretty good show with all sorts of cars, Holdens, Fords, Chevy's, MG's etc. They also have a swapmeet but I can't imagine there being too many MINI parts on offer.

Sorry, I've been a bit slack of late.

The show was pretty good. Lots of older Mini's turned up but mine was the only new MINI so it kind of stood out amongst the other cars. Had a lot of interest in it . I took a few pics of it alongside the other Mini's but haven't had a chance to scan them in yet (no digital camera). Hopefully get round to doing that sonn and then I'll post them.

Just went away for a holiday up north and managed to stumble across the longest drivable beach in NZ - 200km of sand called a public road - managed to get stuck within the first 100m or so (damn silly combination of ASC and low profiles) so didn't really risk taking it too far, so have a few photos of that and the aftermath of driving on a couple of gravel roads which I will post at the same time.
