EVO magazine (Nov)

I've just receieved a copy of the magazine from my friend in the UK.
I'll bring it to the meeting next Saturday.
Sorry guys, I don't have a scanner.

Cliffy,
I do believe that there're certain advantages of the JCW upgrade. Yes, it's relatively expensive, but that's because you also get a machined cylinder head and a bigger supercharger, in addition to the usual smaller pulley, ECU upgrade and exhausts, for this price. These changes are relatively more expensive than those that achieve 200hp by simply fitting in a smaller pulley and re-programming the ECU. It seems like the JCW is worth the money if you're planning to do further upgrades on top of the JCW later on. (this is just my opinion, not from the EVO mag )

I can foresee 2 problems:

1) My main worry here is whether the BMWHK guys can do a good job on the conversion.

2) If you're planning to do further modifications on top of the JCW upgrade, who's got the knowledge to remap the ECU to cater for the additional changes?

Though my opinion is for the present - I believe that the JCW Kit offered is just a begining. There should be 2nd stages of upgrades that will have significantly more gains. It's just when will they release it and how much will BMW reduce the power to make it warranty proof.

As for your problems those are good points to factor in.

Anyways look forward to seeing you on Sat.

Cheers,

Cliff
