Hello and questions

Sorry if this turns out to be another totally ignorant new comer thread.

I ordered a MCS last week and was told that the car (May 04 production) should be ready for delivery around mid July 04. I have confirmed my order and paid a deposit so pretty much everything is set. However I would like to know if any of you use the insurance broker and plan recommended by BMW/MINIHK? If not, any other reliable alternative?

Also I took a test drive last week before I confirmed the order. I had a friend with me so there was a total of three people in the test car (03 model I was told). After coming to a complete halt at a stop sign near the end of a rather steep slope, I found to car to really struggle to move off again. The salesman told me I had mistakenly put the gear in 3rd. But I tried three times and was pretty sure the car was in 1st. I read about different ECU versions with these cars, would the latest version cure the problem? Also does anyone know if the newer cars come with the latest version of the software?

I am really exited and hanging to get the car asap. Hopefully I can join you guys come the next meeting.

Hi simc,

It's a good idea to sit back and let BMW sort out the insurance matters for you. The insurance quotes they offer are very reasonable, if not the cheapest in town.

Yes, a loaded Mini will have some difficulty getting away from a steep slope. It's something you have to learn to live with.

Hope this helps,
Hubert

Thanks Adam. I have already checked out the website and it is very impressive. I was told by the dealer that I should be getting the new car sometime next week so the countdown clock is ticking.
