Turbo conversion project

Here are some pictures of the race car I am building. It will be a turbo/nitrous car. It has my custom pistons, cam, rods, head and some other top secret stuff. The turbo is a Garrett 600hp turbo with a water to air intercooler fed by a 20gal per min pump. It will have ice water pumped through it to cool the inlet charge for maximum hp. We will be dynoing it in 2-3 weeks and then racing it .

Blimey

That looks like a serious motor you have built!. Some questions, we crave the answers to feed our fevered imaginations

Where will you mount the water cooler for the charge cooler?

What are you going to do to the clutch and gearbox to cope with the additional strain?

Are you going to run an LSD? Wll the torque steer when the turbo comes on song make it hard to drive?

What figures do you hope it will produce?

What series will you run it in?

Sorry for being so demanding, but am just interested!

ps NO2 as well? are you mad?

Very very nice, I think s_and_m has covered all the questions I wanted to ask.

It was acceptable in the 80's

Hey missed this thread when I was talking to you about it before! Good Work!

One question though! How are you replacing the water pump? And interesting pics of how a water pump has been fitted would be good

As soon as I get them mounted I will show you the install,

1 for the water to air
1 for the engine.

Thanks Always thought about a twin charge but then the supercharger is there just eating HP and heating the air even more. Future mission might be to remove it completely. I saw way in the future.

Twincharging is nice but I really think to do it effectively you need a M62 supercharger to do it right. The m45 just becomes a bottleneck

Torque Steer!!!
You will probably need to fit some sort of boost limiting device to the steering column - anything other that straight ahead and you will be doing circles with that sort of power coming on full boost!!!
