Winscreen Crack

My 5 week young R56 MC has developed a stress crack 8" long from the bottom O/S corner. There is no visible impact mark so this must be a faulty screen.

Wonder what arguments I'll get from Victoria Mini milton keynes?

Oh god, you would of think they have fixed this on the R56?
If there is no sign of chip on the screen, you will be able to get it replaced under warranty.

There is no visible sign of a stone chip, there are a couple of really tiny chips on the surface of the crack which looks like where the glass is flaking.

Was this a fault with previous models?

Yeah, unfortunately I had a crack on my last MINI, they test the crack by simply running a ballpoint pen up the crack, if it stops in any bit of the crack-they deem there to be a chip on it and say it's not covered under warranty.
If you have a kind dealer though you will be ok, as you have probably not had the car very long, I would go in and see if they will do as good will gesture.
