The rubber stoppers can be retracted by turning clockwise, and extended by turning anti-clockwise. If they extend too far they force the plastic paint protectors to distort and move.

Just checked my 14 day old MCS and the plastic has started to move, and the stoppers were out too far. Have now retracted them to the maximum. No sign of paint damage though.

I'll wait a few days and see what happens, and also listen to hear if the tailgate rattles. Then I will replace the plastic with something better !

Ours had been looked at today and we've been told it needs the boot hinges adjusting, going back in 2 weeks to have them done.....

The boot hinges adjusting? That's not great.

Also having the bonnet re-aligned at the same time, it might come back a bit less wonky hopefully....

There is actually a service bulletin out for those little circles. The dealer will replace them with "new and improved" versions if you take it in.

msh441 and cheify. I will probably go the Velcro route also, but is there a risk of water retention, therefore potential rust with the Velcro pads?

Woodmans are due to do the circles thing and touch up the scratched paint tomorrow.

I'll report back.
