First trip back to the dealers

So I just took my MINI in today to have a few niggles ironed out.

1) Strange idle, sensitivity to fuel, especially current tankfull.
2) 1st to 2nd gear crunch.
3) Adjust xenons so I can see where Im going at night!

Got a call some 7 hours later....

1) We're going to drain your fuel tank then refill it...
2) Your gearbox doesnt crunch, same in every gear.
3) Your Bi-xenons are auto levelling.

Im going in tomorrow morning to check what they are doing to my car and show them a good gear crunch!

Xenons do self level, but that doesn't mean they cannot be set up incorrectly, it just means they go up and down as the car does.

As Paul said you can adjust the Xenons, I did it myself as per this thread...

Follow the instructions of R Mathlin.

Yes thats what I told him yesterday, he said no and I said YES! He said hes speak to the boss. I was woken by a call at 8:30 this morning to be told that they were going to take the fuel tank out my car. It will cost me £200 + the price of a tank if fuel! I said Its under warranty, and they replied yes but its not a problem with the car itself. All I wanted them to do was check the engines history and look for a problem as its run fine on the same fuel for 200 miles. Can they not do this? Oh and I told them not to bother with removing the tank!

If the fuel is faulty, the petrol station is surely responsible, if the car is faulty, then the warranty should cover it?

Strange one.

Just picked up the car. N problem with the gearbox, if I dont let them drain the tank they cant do anything with the it and the bi-xenons definitely CANNOT be adjusted. Soooo I took the car home and adjusted them.... I had to turn the screw 6 and a half complete times before they were level with our other cars, I'll try them out tonight. Thanks for the help on that!
