DIY Run on flat warning ligh

Hi there just purchased my first mini, its a 51 plate cooper and after driving about 3 miles the run on flat light begins to flash I've checked all tyres which are fine so I wondered if anyone had any similar problems or knew how to sort this. I'd rather ask the drivers than go to a garage and get charged unless I really have to.

Thanks in Advance

Ahron

have you actually reset the run flat sensor.

Mine always needs to be reset when comes back from the garage.

Check the manual, but you need to turn the key to pos 2 ( i think) press and hold the button until the light flashes and then drive away! It should not flash again unless there is a problem.

Read the manual though. it is in there!

. I understand driving is soo much better than reading the manual, and your dealer should have sorted it out for your pick up.

Oh well glad that it is sorted! Enjoy your drving!!!

hi

eh duno if anybody can help me with this problem. Run flat system running fine until i got new brakes put on the front of R53 cooper s. everthing was fine till i had a flat tyre on the run flat and the system never illuminated the dash light = tyre was running for sum time on zero pressure and has destroyed itself = 200€ for new tyre. The blokes who did the brakes replaced the brake pad wear sensors and the front pads at the time.

when i pump up the now destroyed tyre (side wall leaking air slowly)to the recommended psi and reset the system, the system just doesnt want to work. I understand that the system works on the abs rather than tyre valve sensors, does anybody have any idea what could have gone wrong, as the system didnt report flat tyre and now im forking out for new tyre.

could the abs have been disabled or something like dat during the fitting of the brakes?

any help or input greatly appreciated.

cheers
