The bonnet although appearing completely shut was not. I was not letting it slam down hard enough. The Handbook states on page 92 "Close from a height of approx' 40 cm = 16" with some momentum". I was not doing this hence the problem.......no need to visit the dealer!
Would also have looked an idiot if I had taken the car back to the dealer !!!
I also have a problem which I have posted here regarding 'wind noise' at speeds over 100 mph especially if there is a head or cross wind. It's a resonant sound in the area behind the speedo. I am wondering if the Bonnet problem was the cause.
Will check next time I visit my private airfield !!
Just returned from the airfield, but the 'Wind noise" is still there. Starts at 95-100 mph and gets louder the faster I go. Sounds rather like a badly tuned violin !!!
Had 135mph out of mine now its run-in (on a disused air field) and there is some wind noise as you would expect....but really not bad at all and no whistles or unusual noises.
It must really be anoying Caesar.....would drive me mad.....guess i've just been lucky with mine hope they get yours sorted for you soon.
I've posted a few threads on the 'Wind Noise' problem, and have come across a few other members who have it as well. They have each given different solutions: -
a) Had the Windscreen Pillars repacked.
b) Problem was the 'sticky black ' Window seal around the screen.
c) Replaced the Speedometer.
