URGENT: Windscreen Cracking!!!!!!

Hi everybody,

I just got a phone call of my brother who owns a CR/B R56 Cooper and he said last night when he was coming home he could hear a creaking noise, and when he went out to his car this morning he found his windscreen cracked starting from the top of the screen and it has started going to the left.

He said that Nothing has hit the screen.

Is this a MINI fault, i.e Faulty batch from factory?

Or something else?

Stress fractures are rare but they do happen.

Worse case scenario it will cost £40-60 depending on which windscreen company your insurance company use.

+1. Seen it on my friend's '03.

I'd suggest he check with the dealer first. They may be willing to help him out by fixing it under warranty if there's no evidence of impact damage.

He has said he IS NOT going to the insurance and wants the dealer to sort it out.

The windscreen on the 07 seems to crack VERY easily. I have several cracks from small pebbles hitting it.....
