Can you get the part number as my dealers computer says the factory is only supplying the grille without holes & that this can be fitted to Minis with grilles that have holes!

I tried drilling and filing out all the holes and this made no difference to the heat that collects on the bonnet. In fact when I complained the bonnet scoop was warped the service advisor tried to blame my modification to the grille. He changed his mind when I challenged him to explain how extra ventilation above the turbo would cause excess heat when heat rises. The scoop got changed.

I also tried using some adhesive heat shield material under the bonnet but this has made no difference either, the bonnet still gets really hot and now my second scoop is warping.

The only fixes that seem like they will work would be either a turbo blanket on the hot side or an extra heat shield (there are some around).

I am not so sure of the turbo blanket, it will help the turbo spool up quicker by keeping the gasses hot and at full expansion as well as keeping a lot of that heat out of the bonnet. My concern is will it end up damaging the turbo due to keeping more heat in the turbo bearings? I have read some reports from people with the blankets and they all record an improvement in power and response as well as a vast improvement in under bonnet temps, but none have had them on long enough to comment on turbo longevity.
