No probs with my Mini. Please don't take this as knocking you guys that are having problems with your cars. Just wanted to post a positive note that they are not all are badly made and unreliable. My last car was a real pain, new shape Honda Civic that felt like a 100k mile banger after a few weeks. So I know what it's like when your car isn't running like a new car should and the dealers and manufacturer don't seem interested either. My Mini, now 5 months old and with 4k miles on it is running well. No squeaks, rattles, eveything working as it should and I'm well happy with it. Wish'ed I gone for an automatic is my only regret really, maybe next time. Having said thay I never buy the same car twice and I like the look of the new VW Scirocco. A friend also has a 4 year old Mini, again his is going fine, no squeaks, all working well. Seems that it doesn't matter which make you go for nowadays, you can get a lemon with anything. |

| 18500 miles of pretty much trouble free driving in my R56 Cooper, and easily over 40mpg on a recent mini run in France (Friday - Monday) ![]() Only things it has been back for have been a couple of recalls, which I suppose you expect with any new model. |

I have an R56 MCS March 08 build and after 3,500km, so far so good, apart from the mesh screen for the sunroof sliding back a little. No squeaks or rattles or any mechanical or electrical probs. Clutch was slightly smelly while running in, but that has gone now. Gearbox is even sweeter now - smoother changes. Economy is great when driven for economy, and still pretty good when not ! Enjoying the chassis more and more. Took it down Macquarie Pass, 2hrs south of Sydney, a really twistie downhill road through escarpment forest - handling, grip & steering was just brilliant. That engine is sooo flexible, down or up-changes rarely needed. I can tell you that the ABS certainly works too I hope it always stays so good...... |

| I seem to remember saying the same thing around the 3,000 mile mark then it all went downhill at the 4,000 mile mark. Actually it's not all that bad, my car's been in the shop close to 30 days total for some knocking sound coming from the left front of the car. It's in the shop as we speak but it seems they've finally solved the problem, I might actually get my car back tomorrow! We'll see what the next 4,000 miles will be like. |

i have now done over 20000, apart from a few noises on the engine which have been there since day one & the dealer can't find anything wrong, ive have 20000 trouble free miles of motoring. vote for my mini Mini Cooper - Car of The Month Entry |
