Yes - generally in cold weather.

3. Has your car been back to Mini for remedial work?
Yes
4. What work and how many times?
May have the exact terminology wrong but they replaced the timing chain tensioners. This has been completed once.
5. Has the cold start rattle returned.
Yes - it returned as soon as the weather turned cold again. Not sure if the work actually achieved anything - sounds like a really rough diesel for first few mins.
6. Join action group?
Yes - there are so many problems on this model that need a recall!!
