Australia Sat Nav problem - no streets?

I have an issue with the indash Sat Nav on my MCS. It fails to display the street names (at any zoom level). So you have no idea of the name of the road you are on or what intersection you are crossing or any other street in the centre of Melbourne (no jokes please! ). Has anyone else experienced this sort of thing?

Funniest thing about it, it seems to be able to tell me where the local running track is at all times (Tan Tan Track).... can I just drive on this do you think? hehehehe!!

Cheers,

Rossi

Check your display mode. Perspective display mode (3-D bird's eye) does not display street names. The other modes should show street names.

I'm actually talking about an error in the nav system where certain areas do not display the names of some streets while other things like walking tracks and roads outside of the city are displayed, then if you travel/scroll a few kilometers in any direction the street names appear on screen for the area you are looking at. Then if you return to the centre of the city once again there are no details displayed. Very weird.... Is there something they dont want us to know??? ...like where the hell we are!!!!

As has been mentioned, if you are using perspective mode, try to change from perspective to flat display mode to see the street names. Perspective mode keeps the centre of the display decluttered for some reason.

Blimy guys, give me some flippin credit for knowing that the system does not display ANY street names etc while in Perspective...I KNOW THIS!!!!! I'm asking about the other view options of course! AARRGGHHH!!!!

So, getting back to my original scenario....has anybody experienced (busy/city/CBD) zones where street names do not seem to appear?
