Put the seat right back before you get out - this means you won't catch the bolster ![]() As iain said about conditioning the leather too ![]() The Original MINI One Seven Yorkshire MINI Register - PM for details

Thank you MOS, I already do the seating right back... so hopefully that'll help out a bit. Car is only over two years old, and I'm afraid I don't condition it or clean. The most I've done with it is use Mr Sheen, give it a quick wipe you know?. Am I suppose to condition though, Mr Cooper? If so, what would you recommend ![]() Many thanks!

You are really - leather is a natural product, unlike human skin which is alive, leather doesn't produce its own oils to stop it drying out. Thing is as the leather cannot produce its own oils therefore can dry out, crack etc. Theres a variety of different products you could use, autoglym cleaner followed by care cream is a good combination that seems to work. Should be able to get both items for under £15 from halfords - its usually on 3 for 2 so you could get some polish or something else made by autoglym too for free! And you're best to do it every 6 months! ![]() The Original MINI One Seven Yorkshire MINI Register - PM for details

a lot of the detailing sites use products by these guys - Furniture Clinic - Leather Care Cleaner, Furniture Repair & Restoration

Chances are it won't go back to being like new (the dye shown above may sort it really), but you will prevent it from getting worse. Afterall, as a natural product leather will age, but you can slow that down using the conditioners... The use of a conditioner should slow the aging down dramatically and try to prevent it getting any worse ![]() The Original MINI One Seven Yorkshire MINI Register - PM for details

Nice one I'd put some cream on it asap just to preserve it, and keep on with it - should keep it looking new for longer ![]() The Original MINI One Seven Yorkshire MINI Register - PM for details

Did it just yesterday, hehe. HOWEVER... I just noticed a couple of hours ago that there was a gigantic mark on the plastic behind the seat, and after investigative questionning of my brother and sisters, it was BMW/MINI who did it! Any advice on what to do now? I'm going to go in tomorrow to tell them, as I'm rather peeved off with it...

I'd see what they can do, but as it left their site, they may decline responsibility... Still, give it a shot. They should probably repair it - new seat backs are something like £30 ![]() The Original MINI One Seven Yorkshire MINI Register - PM for details
