P0597 Thermostat Heater Control Circuit/Open Fault Code

Hi All

I plugged an RAC fault code reader in my R56 Mini One today and it came up with the fault code above.

What does this actually mean and is it anything to worry about?

Any advice appreciated.

Fault code P0597

I have same code coming up from the yellow engine light which keeps coming on but the thermostat was checked and purported to be ok.

Due to the reported weak points of our engines I purchased a KIWI OBD reader. It's Bluetooth and small enough to remain permanently fitted. With dash command on my phone I am able to keep a close eye on engine temperature amongst other important data. This should help me detect any issues early and hopefully avoid serious engine issues. Just a thought and not expensive, can also stay on top of fault codes at a glance.
