After fitting a roof rack, need a new gutter :(

Well, I was hacking away at the perforated bits only to realise that I was hacking at the wrong end!!

Now I need a new gutter, can these be fitted easy? Or is it a big big job?

PS, roof rack is a bad piece of kit. Its pushing the shape of the gutter trim out something rotten.

you dont need to do any cutting on the 2nd gen - i think you might have placed this in the wrong forum area as i presume you have a 1st gen ?

did you not see the perforated bits part of my post ?

The perforated bits are close to impossible to see on some of them, so they need pulling very hard with the tweezer kit. And I got the wrong bit.

few steps that you may find useful

hello
i have no roof rack on however i was thinking of buying an original Mini rack,
after reading about fitting them in place best thing would be to thank the roof gatters off so you can locate the roof race holders better
to take of the gatters all you need is:
1) take off the door seals
2) unscrew the screws under the door seal
3) unclip by pulling towards you the rest of the roof gatter
4) locate the holders
5) slice the gatter with a small knife where the the holder is located.
6) put the gatter back on the car

Job Done

Oh, are you sure this is for the R56? New new minis?

So you jsut remove the door seal, unscrew some screws and the gutter pops out?

Anyway, yes, if you are happy removing the gutter, I would defo recommend removing it first, this would have been a much better solution. I have to replace mine now sadly - But if what you say is right, I am happy to do it!!

Are you sure its not screwed in any other places?

I have just bought a second hand original roof rack (still waiting to go and pick it up)
It would be nice to have some pictures of this gutter-removing job, and to see the details.
