According to the owner's manual, you're supposed to be able to open the boot by pressing the button on the 'key fob thing' .... without unlocking the whole car (as did our R53)
Our's doesn't and the dealer reckons it's now been disabled in the factory on newer models because of all the numbnuts who locked their keys in the boot
Anybody else heard / know of this .... or are they pulling the wool?
The whole car has to be unlocked then press the boot button and it pops open.. I only found this out the other week cause I thought mine wasn't working. The Dealer wasn't fobbing you off, mine told me the same thing.
I was just disappointed that it didn't raise up like a Lexus would
Weird cos it does on mine! - It may have been unlocked at the time tho I dont know, but holding the button does open the bootlid. Its a feature to stop you opening it when the keys are in your pocket !
I have 08 plate S and I've set my unlock button to only open the driver door on first press, second press opens the whole car. I noticed too the boot doesn't just unlock with 1 hold of the boot button, I have to unlock the car then press and hold the unlock boot button for it to pop. My 04 cooper boot would open without the rest of the car being open. They must of changed it
