 Momentary power steering loss at low speed Was parking up my 07 R56 Cooper tonight and noticed momentary loss of power steering (was like treacle) during parallel parking manoeuvre. It's going in to have the sunroof rattles looked at (they want it for 3 days!) in a couple of weeks under warranty so I will mention this then. Any one experienced power steering loss when parking?  |

| 07 R56 Cooper sounds like it has stop-start, and when the stop-start cuts in (or cuts out, as it were), the power steering goes too. Any chance that was the cause? I have a fairly regular traffic crawl down a steep (straight) bank and I enjoy letting the car roll on its own with a dead engine to force the stop-start to restart the engine - which it does at about 3-4mph, and I reckon getting the power steering working again is the reason BMW chose that speed.
