Coolent and Oil Empty each Month

My mini one keeps running out of oil and coolent every month totaly empty.

I took it to a mini garage and they said I should be topped up every two weeks with coolent and oil. Does this sound correct as it seems a lot?

Looking at the car on a ramp I can't see any leaks.

Has anyone else had any similar problems?

Thanks

Jemes

This sounds quite serious. Loss of both oil & water in a short period (without any obvious leaks), is usually a sign that the Engines Head Gasket has blown.
Is there any indication of either smoke from the exhaust, or emulsified oil - (whiteish gunge) - under the oil filler cap or on the dipstick?

No smoke from the exhaust and no emulsified oil as far as I can tell.

Jemes, your oil and coolant must be going somewhere !!

for some reason the mini garage is pulling your plonker ?? if there is no obvious leaks then I would agree that the head gasket could be knackered.

you need to get it checked out asap or you will ruin your engine.

Jemes Hi! The garage is completely lying to you! Since when would a car use 24 Litres of Oil a year? !

If a Head Gasket is blown, the car looses water, which spreads around the block, Oil is not at a loss here. The engine management light (yellow) will be seen on the dash, once the system is sensing a distruction!

Have the system pressure tested by another garage! Do NOT go back to that bull**** garage. There are plenty of decent MINI Specialists around, find that trust worthy guy who will tell you instantly what problem you have!
