Hi! To cut straight to the point, I've owned my MINI Cooper S for about a year and a half now. Since ive had it, its had the 'tractor' noise from start-up on most occcasions. Im now noticing that its losing oil somewhere and ive had an oil pressure warning flash up twice. Ive been into the dealership and they've checked it over and found a small leak on the sump gasket, but the leak is not sufficient enough to be the route of my quick loss of oil. I lost a full tank of oil in around 600 miles!! The dealership has filled it back up, and sent me on my way asking me to keep an eye on it and return when empty. This was a couple of days ago now and since then ive noticed that when i accelerate, it sounds really rough and 'dry'!? Also when i start up, ive noticed some 'bluish' coloured smoke coming from the exhaust? Im gna take it back in tommorrow as ive been working these past couple of days and havent had a chance! I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what could be causing this problem? Any help is appreciated! Many Thanks!!
Maybe the head gasket going? Check inside the oil filler cap to see if there is any white creamy gunge stuck to the underside of the filler cap? If there is, then your head gasket is going!
No there isn't anything like that! I've checked all that out already! Gna take it down there now! Hopefully I won't get fobbed off as seems usual with this garage!?
I know exactly what you mean about getting fobbed off. I don't know why BMW dealers have got such a bad attitude towards Mini owners, do they think we are not good enough to be in their showroom?
