Welcome lights - MINI Cooper Forum

Hi i have recently purchased a MCS 57 plate, it has the welcome lights on it,i think i am aware that for these to come on the light stalk has to be in in "auto" or "on" position mine is in the "on" position and sometimes they don't come on!! like they have a mind of their own!! any ideas??

Thanks for that but, i don't think its the follow me home lights, thats where you pull the light stalk back after you park up and the headlights come on for a while but not as powerfull i beleive, I mean the side lights that come on when you unlock the car,usually does it but sometimes doesn't even when light stalk is left in on position????
