Hot Foot

I bought a 2011 clubman a few months ago and recently I’ve noticed that when I drive the compartment where my feet are gets VERY hot. I know there’s a heat vent down there but the heat’s not on and if I turn the fan on I can feel air blow out of the vent but whether the fan is on or not I feel hot air coming out between where the plastic part meets the carpet part on the consul just to the right of my feet. I don’t know if it’s always done this and I’m just now noticing since it’s getting warmer out and the heat isn’t on and I’m wearing sandals or if this is something new it’s doing. Does this happen to anyone else?
Is this a normal mini thing?

Do you have air con or climate control?

I've found that with standard air con, if you have the heat dial set towards the warm side, you get a fair bit of hot air escaping into the footwell even if you have the blowers turned off, or supposedly directed elsewhere...

Do you still get the problem when your heater is set to cold, regardless of whether or not it is turned on?

yes, i have the dial set all the way in the blue, but there's still hot air at my feet. the hot air doesn't come from the normal foot heat vent, but seems to be coming out from a small space between the carpet and plastic portion to the right of my leg.
