help with warning lights

i have a mini cooper s on a 57 plate that has done nearly 28000 miles. i have had it for just over a year.

over the past couple of months i have had a couple of warning lights that have been coming on when i put my foot down (only a short burst) or go round a long sweeping bend. the lights stay on for around 30 seconds then go off.

the lights are the traction light and handbrake light and large exclamation light that turns from red then to orange (picture attached below).

i have show the picture to a garage (non bmw/mini) and they say the brake pressure sensor may need replacing. there is a repair kit available but may cost £250 to replace, if the whole thing needs replacing it may cost upto £800.

has any one else had a similar experience or can offer any advice.

cheers

Have you checked your Owner's Manual to see what that combination of lights means?

Have you checked the brake fluid level?

I have an oil warning light showing for approx 1 second when I go round a sharp corner, but my oil level is fine.

Sounds like it might be similar to yours, I'm taking mine in tomorrow to hopefully get it fixed under warranty so I'll report back then.

All the best with yours, all I would say is if in doubt get a second opinion if possible

Just to follow up on mine, apparently it was low on oil which is why the warning came up! Odd that it would only happen on a sharp corner.

I was charged for oil and a fee for diagnosis, which is galling given I'd checked the level the day before. I'd read so much about it being hard to read, that when I saw a faint trail of oil go three quarters of the way up the dipstick I thought it was fine.

Good luck with yours to the OP!
