Clunking Doors

When shutting the doors on my mini clubman, on either side, the door latch seems to hit the door striker to low so the operation is clunky and noisy, I can probably adjust the stricker to get a smoother operation but as its the same both sides just thought id ask if this is normal, or just that the doors have dropped slightly.. just abit weary to go ahead and try and adjust them as they a frame less windows and dont want to cause any complications..

I always figured the "clunk" was a MINI characteristic...? These has been a resounding clunk sound when shutting the doors on all three of mine so far...

Have you compared your car to another MINI? Is it a noticeably louder clunk?

No I haven't compare to any other mini's but you can see that the latch doesn't line up with the striker when closing, this causes the clunk but also it raises the door slightly. Most cars you adjust the striker to line up with the latch for a smooth operation but with the mini having a frameless window this would mean the glass would sit lower on the seal which may cause a leak say or wind noise.

So my question is as I don't know anyone with a mini is....

How many of you have clunking misaligned doors and how many find there doors shut properly without additional force or noise????
