DIY R56 abs error codes, help needed pls

Hi, I have a '07 r56 Cooper. It has an ASC system. Brake, abs, and asc warning lights are yellow all the time. There are only two error codes in the comp: 5d96, 5e18. I guess its not the abs sensors Did anyone had the same issue? Can the issue be anything else but a faulty abs module+pump? I need to know becouse these parts are pretty expensive and i want to make sure that nothing else can be the problem. Another question is that if a dsc abs-module is compatible with my car, or i need to search for an asc module? Thank you very much! David

Did some research on the internet and found these bmw codes, but nothing more. Messages are in hungarian, so its hard to translate it (for me):

$F5D96
5D96 Control Unit : Valve Relay
$F5E18
5E18 Control Unit : Internal

And theres something about a short-circuit aswell.
Hope this helps some.

Check the plug on the ABS/ASC pump, think maybe there will bee some corrosion. Have seen it on DSC a few times. Its placed on left side close to the firewall, a lot of brake linings go into/out of it. Just unplug it and check for green corrosion in the plug or at the pump

Thank you! My mechanic took it apart, cleaned it and then put it together. Codes and lights are gone, works fine now. In case anyone will have the same issue in the future

Hi Dave05 and Eirik,
my R56MC (2007) got this same problem - ASC and Brake yellow light coming on intermittently(it resets itself out when the engine is shutdown) during the last couple of weeks. Went to my local dealership service centre and they replace some brake reservoir valve sensor but the problem persist again. They advised me to change some steering column control unit which cost a bomb.
Looking at your post, it seems like it could just be some corrosion issue. Thought of checking the plug Eirik mentioned above and see if it works before deciding on other rectification by the dealership. Is it difficult to access the the above mentioned plug or i need to get a mechanic to do it?

Thanks

P.S. BTW, I m from Singapore and our steering wheel is on the RIGHT hand side (similar to UK)
