New thermostat and housing now overheating help

Just had new thermostat and housing and went on motorway and temp gage went in red can any one help 2006 mini cooper

Probably due to an airlock in the system, it must be carefully bled from 2 or 3 bleed valves to eliminate all air after refillng the coolant or will it will cause overheating.
