does anyone know more aout this new story?

Its pretty vague on the models (doesnt say R50 or 56).

...the general rule with recalls is to keep them on the lowdown, so as not to scare the public. After all in most cases its a "risk" and not a guaranteed failure.

Still, many manufacturers get it wrong like Toyota (accelerator pedal) and Renault (Bonnet catches corroding), and one or two deaths can be hard for the public to forget.

I dont think the mini issue is in the same camp as these failures, btw.

Very glad to see our safety is MINI's priority, now MINI need to speak to and compensate owners who were affected by this who fortunately escaped unharmed from their cars, but due to less rigor by MINI up until now have suffered financially.

Very good extensive article in today's In Gear (Sunday Times), well worth a read

Let us hope all of these cars are repaired before another incident results in injury or worst for any MINI occupants!
